Do you have an amazing wellness program, but are struggling to get your employees to use it?

It might be time to brand your program. Studies show that implementing a professional brand has a strong influence on consumer behavior. Check out these 5 easy tricks to brand your wellness program, that are sure to draw engagement to the program by employees.

1. Build social influence

Let’ s start with a conversation. Word-of-mouth marketing can be just as important as company branding. Encourage company employees to start workout groups and healthy internal competitions. If employees are having conversations about the wellness program, they are more likely to be invested in it.

Have you ever thought to yourself, “Well if they do it, I’ll do it.”? Employees are more likely to try something if they think their co-workers are doing it. Further, employees are even more likely to be engaged if they think leadership is participating. Encourage company leadership to not only participate, but to also start conversations about the program.

2. Go the extra mile with marketing materials

Have you considered that the reason the program isn’t being used is because employees aren’t educated on its capabilities? It’s crucial to create promotional materials for your wellness program. This could be a section in the monthly newsletter, an email campaign, or a flyer in the break room. Doing this results as a visual reminder to focus on personal wellness.

The marketing materials should include your wellness program brand guidelines so that the imagery is recurring in the minds of your employees.

3. Choose an exciting name for your program

4. Decide on a color tone for your program

Studies show that the colors you choose for branding have a strong influence on consumer behavior. Further, psychologists suggest that different colors influence different emotions and behaviors.

The color yellow makes individuals feel optimistic and warm. Red brings a feeling of excitement. The sight of green makes people think of peace and health. Secondary colors can include company brand colors. Choose an inviting color so that employees will be drawn to your wellness program.

5. Brand the wellness program with a logo

Now that you have a color and a name for your wellness program, let’s make a logo to brand it. Choose imagery that aligns with your vision for your program and embodies the core values that you hope to instill in your employees. Be sure that the font on the logo is easy to read. If needed, you can add corporate company branding within the logo.

You’ll see that in the examples above, we strategically picked the colors green and yellow because of the connotation those colors bring. We also picked imagery that embodied wellbeing with easy to read font.

Once you have completed the logo, it is important that you download it in the correct dimensions. It is equally as important that you download the logo with a transparent background. You’ll be able to add your logo and brand onto all future communication campaigns and event materials without having to worry about the background color clashing.
